After playing Disco Elysium last winter, I knew I had to create something inspired by it. The goal of this project was to select a few existing paintings as concept art to replicate the style of for a 3D scene. The paintings from Rostov, Keller, and Trigun are all very stylized, so I had to make ample use of Substance Painter's new texturing features to achieve the painterly look.
I created a new concept to compose the scene, modeled, textured, and finally rendered it over the course of 15 weeks, and here is the result!
